Thank You to Our Host

{ Entertaining and Parties } Tue, 08 December, 2009

Bringing a gift is a simple way to thank your friends for inviting you to a special gathering. Most people bring a bottle of wine, champagne, or flowers, and these are great choices, but you may be looking for something different.  We suggest thinking about hobbies or interests to gain some inspiration.  Or, what about items they would like but might never buy for themselves? We chose some practical, thoughtful gifts, all under $30, but oh so luxurious.

The Decadent Gift

Hot chocolate is all about comfort, and a decadent mix packaged in a gorgeous tin will hit the spot on chilly evenings.

The Personalized Gift

Personalization makes any gift special.  And an initial on a soothing amber–vanilla scented candle is just right.

For the Cook

Who doesn’t like Italian food? An Italian cooking set with a light and savory olive oil, ceramic baker, and dishtowels is a complete gift.

The Practical Present

Bringing your our own bags to the grocery store or on errands is more than just a trend, it’s convenient. Large jute market tote bags fit a lot, and are easy to carry. Monogramming is a nice touch.

What About the Kids?

When visiting friends with children, consider getting the kids a gift instead.  For example, a personalized stocking stuffed with hand selected goodies to keep them busy during a party.

Momologie Tips

  • When gifting, it’s all about the packaging.  Have fun and be creative.  For example, put a bottle of wine in a birch wood cylinder
  • If you choose to bring flowers, bring an Amaryllis or a Paper White so it will bloom year after year as a reminder of your friendship.
